Guidelines on multi-node setup Access & Data node in terms of DISK, CPU and RAM

Hi,
Would like to know what are recommendations for access node & data node machine specs relative to each other.
Does Access node be twice or thrice of data node specs, in terms of compute & disk?
If we are going to store 5TB of data, kindly help with below details as relative sizing,
Access node : DISK = 5TB or less/how much?, CPU = 24, RAM = 128GB
Both Data nodes : DISK = 5TB, CPU = 24 or less/how much?, RAM = 128GB or less/how much?

Thanks!

hi @NiranjanM , the access node will just store the metadata of all the nodes. So, probably you’ll not need 5TB for the access node.

I’m not that familiar with all internals, but probably @Nikhil maybe can add more insights here.

Hi @NiranjanM

the data is stored on DNs whereas the AN stores the metadata. So the metadata does not need a lot of storage space.

Typically, AN should be configured with more CPU and more RAM as compared to the DNs

Hi, @Nikhil

Great to be aware of. Is it good to consider that an AN can be in multiple of DN’s RAM & CPU or rather it could be more in terms of rate of writes & reads payload. Thanks!
