Technical Product Marketing Manager / Dev Tools (N. America & EU)

Developer Relations

This role is remote in the North American or European time zones.

Timescale is building the world’s next great database company on top of industry-standard PostgreSQL and we need your help!  We are hiring a Product Marketing Manager to help take Promscale, our first vertical solution focused on the observability audience, to market.

Promscale is a unified metric and trace observability backend for metrics and traces built on TimescaleDB and PostgreSQL. It offers a single store and query language for all observability data. It is open source, horizontally scalable (petabyte-scale) and operationally mature.  It integrates with popular open source observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry and Jaeger.

If you’re passionate about serving developers and thrive when working with high-performing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced, growth-minded startup environment, this is the right role for you! We are growing a global, fully distributed team that recruits, develops and promotes people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and views. We believe when people are included and feel appreciated, it creates a culture where people can do meaningful and impactful work. This inspires fearless ideas, innovation and amazing outcomes.

What you’ll do

At Timescale, a Product Marketing Manager defines the story behind a product, helping us crisply identify the audience for our product, craft the proper positioning and messaging for the product to meet the audience’s needs, and drive the launch and continued success of the product in-market.

Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Timescale, partnering across Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing. Product Marketing works across the entire product lifecycle, helping shape the scope and features of the product, driving launch and go-to-market strategy/execution, and working with our Growth Marketing and Developer Advocacy teams to grow adoption post-launch.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an early-stage company with a clear set of products on the horizon. We need you to help us talk about it the right way, land it with our customer base, and iterate on future versions. If you have experience launching products at a startup and want to take the next step in your career, this is the role for you.
